Refund policy

Last updated 14 October 2026

Paid plans for Maps by DeltaBreen are sold by Paddle, our merchant of record, which takes the payment, issues the invoice and pays out any refund. The service is provided by DeltaBreen Limited (the operator of Maps by DeltaBreen), a company registered in Ireland with company number 826627 and VAT number IE4835019QH, of Gorey, Co. Wexford, Ireland. This page says when a refund is given. It is part of the terms of service, and nothing in it limits your rights under the law where you are.

1. No charges beyond your plan

You pay for your plan in advance, and for any top-up you choose to buy, and nothing more. When a month's map loads run out, a paid plan keeps working while we get in touch with you, and on the Free plan new loads are refused until the month ends, you buy a top-up or you upgrade; we never charge for use beyond a plan, so there is never an overage bill to dispute.

2. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from Billing, under Manage subscription. The plan keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for and then does not renew. Nothing you created is removed when a plan ends.

3. Periods already paid

A billing period that has already started is not refunded when you cancel or downgrade, except as set out below, or where the law or Paddle's buyer terms give you a refund.

You can change your mind within 14 days of the day you took a plan. For those 14 days Billing shows Withdraw from contract: press it and confirm, and the plan ends at once, what you paid for it is refunded in full, and we email you straight away to confirm that we received your withdrawal, with its date and time. You can also tell us or Paddle within that time, in any words that make it clear, as section 9 describes. This is the right of withdrawal that consumers in the EU, the EEA and the United Kingdom have by law; the button is there for every account, so a business has the same 14 days. It covers the plan; top-ups are covered by section 5. After a withdrawal the account can take a new plan again 30 days later; top-ups stay open meanwhile.

4. Changing plan

A change of plan takes effect straight away, and Billing shows its price before anything changes. Paddle prorates it: a larger plan charges the difference for the rest of the period, and a smaller plan credits the difference towards your next bills rather than refunding it. After a move to a smaller plan, the month's allowances stay those of the larger plan until the calendar month ends.

5. Top-ups

A top-up is a one-off purchase of prepaid map loads, searches or static images, for the one you choose when you buy it. It does not expire while your account exists and is used only after that allowance, its banked units and its surge pool. If you ask within 14 days of buying a top-up and none of it has been used, we refund it in full. What has been used is not refunded, and when a top-up is refunded what remains of it is removed from your balance. Unused top-ups end when you close your account.

6. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time under Settings, Delete account. A paid plan is cancelled first and the unused part of the period you paid for is refunded; unused top-ups end with the account (section 5). If we close your account for any reason other than a breach of the terms, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for and any top-ups not yet used.

7. Charges made in error

If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged in error in any other way, contact us and we will have the charge refunded in full.

8. Failed payments and chargebacks

If a renewal payment fails, your plan keeps working while Paddle retries it, and you can update your card under Manage subscription. If the payment still cannot be collected, the plan ends. If a payment is reversed, or you raise a chargeback instead of asking for a refund, we may suspend or downgrade the account until the amount is settled, so please ask us first.

9. How to ask for a refund

In a plan's first 14 days, use Withdraw from contract under Billing (section 3). For anything else, email [email protected] from your account's address, or use the help link in your Paddle receipt. Paddle pays refunds back to the payment method you used, and your bank may take several days to show it.
